The Plug & Jump is a very portable unit which can be carried in the aircraft at all times because it is so lightweight. It can be used to start the aircraft from an ordinary car using standard jumper cables. It comes in two models; The Universal Model is used for Cessna, Beechcraft, etc. (3 pin plug) and the Piper Model is a single pin. The Plug and Jump is a simple conduit of power from any external power source to the aircraft. It is not a battery in and of itself. The Plug n Jump can be used for either 28V or 14V systems. |

Plug & Jump Piper Model +
Solid, good quality, nicely constructed.
Plug & Jump Piper Model +
Nothing new to add, its solid, it fits and will do the job when needed.
Fortunately I havent had to jump start the plane with it, but I love it. Easy to carry in the plane, and jumper cables available everywhere. Very nice construction. I did try the it in the airplanes receptacle and it fit perfect. I have been to airports that only have a universal plug, and some with no jump carts period. So it makes since to carry your own.
Not only a great way to jump my airplane but also to trickle charge it. Retro fit a piper outlet on my 182F and a small plug in trickle charger on the wall, auto cycles green to red always leave her plugged in, battery is always strong.
Tried it and it works as advertised on my Dakota.

Yes, this plug and jump will fit socket part # 11-00500.
No, this is only made to jump start.
The outside diameter is 5.6" and the inside diameter is 4.3".
We always advise to check the port on your aircraft to be sure, if it is single plug female, this will work. If it is the 3 pin style, see part # 11-00971.
It is not recommended to charge the battery with the plug and jump. Aviation battery chargers have specific outputs designed for battery maintenance that this simple plug and jump does not have. This is designed to jump start.
