Overview

SkyView HDX features improved displays, beautiful design, unrivaled control ergonomics, and an upgraded touch interface. SkyView HDX displays are compatible with all existing SkyView components and feature identical mounting profiles and electrical connections.

Clear, Vibrant Displays:
SkyView HDX features brighter, higher-resolution HD touchscreen displays with wider viewing angles and improved anti-reflective properties for the sharpest picture ever.
Beautiful Design:
SkyView HDX’s modern, elegant design features robust metal and glass construction that is worthy of being in your aircraft.
Unrivaled Control Ergonomics:
SkyView HDX expands the SkyView philosophy of combining full physical controls with a touchscreen. SkyView HDX’s angled control panel allows for natural hand positioning, reducing fatigue. The wide, sculpted ledge allows you to anchor your hand for precise control in turbulence. New knobs have positive and crisp movement, and all controls are now fully-backlit for night flight.
Improved Touch Interface:
SkyView HDX features icon-driven touch controls and simplified screen navigation for reduced workload. The new engine monitor instrument band along the bottom of the screen affords an ideal instrument scan. The expansive glass display features edge-to-edge touchability with no bezel in the way.
Capable and Compatible:
SkyView HDX utilizes the same components and modules as existing SkyView systems. It also features the same mounting footprint and wiring as other SkyView displays, allowing drop-in upgrades for pilots already flying behind SkyView. SkyView HDX displays can also work side-by-side with SkyView Touch and SkyView Classic displays.

Q&A

Please note, Aircraft Spruce's personnel are not certified aircraft mechanics and can only provide general support and ideas, which should not be relied upon or implemented in lieu of consulting an A&P or other qualified technician. Aircraft Spruce assumes no responsibility or liability for any issue or problem which may arise from any repair, modification or other work done from this knowledge base. Any product eligibility information provided here is based on general application guides and we recommend always referring to your specific aircraft parts manual, the parts manufacturer or consulting with a qualified mechanic.

Q: Can I fit a 7 inch Dynon Skyview HDX into a D180 opening in my panel and what is the depth of Skyview?

The dimensions of the 7" skyview 7.64" wide, 5.59" high, and 3.13" deep. The cutout for a FlightDEK D-180 are 6.780 wide and 4.750 tall, whereas the 7-inch skyview needs a cutout of 6.97 x 5.35 so the existing panel cutout would need to be slightly enlarged.

Q: Regarding the SkyView HDX screens: Do they have ADS-B out built in? Does it have a COM Radio built in?

No. The displays do not have ADS-B out or Com radio built in. These are optional add-on features and can be configured in your system. We recommend contacting our Avionics Sales team for a price quote on a custom Dynon SkyView system.

Q: In regards to part number 10-06254. The SV-HARNESS-D37, is this a harness that is fabricated by Aircraft Spruce or is it an original part from Dynon? Ive heard that harnesses that are made by Aircraft Spruce do not follow the coloring convention of Dynon.

This harness is a dynon stock harness. We do not fabricate harnesses for the dynon display. While the dynon harnesses we do fabricate do not follow the color code that dynon uses, we laser mark our wire to provide a clean and easily identifiable label for installers.

Q: Are these Dynon Skyview HDX Systems for certified aircraft?

No, the items for sale on this page are intended for experimental aircraft installation only. For certified installations, the equipment must be purchased from the installation shop.

Q: Can the Dynon systems display ADS-B data from a uAvionix SkySensor?

Per the installation manual, this will only connect via wifi to a tablet running specific EFB applications.

Q: Does the engine monitor have the ability to tell you how many degrees lean of peak you are?

Although it does display lean of peak, it does not display percentage.

Q: Does the Dynon Skyview HDX display comes with the ADAHRS ?

No, you are required to add on the ADAHRS module, such as part number 10-03936.

Q: Does the Skyview HDX display come with tray?

his does not mount with a tray. To mount a SkyView display, cut an appropriately sized rectangular opening in your panel, drill out the mounting holes, and use the included mounting screws to fasten the display to the panel.

Q: What Canadian charting options are compatable with the experimental HDX?

Dynon recommends Airmate or Jeppessen for yearly subscriptions for non-US customers.

Q: What is needed to change when replacing a D180 with a Sky View? What other parts are required to make it work?

Per Dynon: You will need to purchase the Skyview display plus the necessary probes and network cables for the functions you wish to have.
