This has a receptacle into which we soldered a one gauge shielded wire and then mounted to the side of the aircraft. The dimensions said that it was a 2 inch hole, but a two inch hole saw created too large of a whole. Ended up using a 1 and 3/4 in hole saw to get the correct sizing. Tested it on a doubler before cutting on the actual airplane. Looks nice and installation was straightforward once we solve the problem of the hole saw.

I own one. It is a good cheap and useful thing to have on airplanes even small ones such as RVs. Surface finish could be improve for a 5 star rating

Q: Is this a certified part?

No, this part is non-certified.

Q: How do you attach the cables from the battery to the socket? It looks like there is a hole for each cable, but they are not threaded. Does one have to thread the holes, and then add a screw to secure the end of the cable?

We have added the installation instructions PDF to the "Documents" tab of this web page. Please review them there.

Q: can this piece (Part# 11-00500 MFR Model# 11041) be combinated with piper jumper plug 11042? I need to have this complete combination

Yes that is correct.

Q: Can this be used in a Cessna 172 application or what should I be looking to install?

No, the Cessna 172 has the 3 pin style port. See Part# 11-03158.
