Looks cool....How it works: This is designed to be connected to a set of battery cables. You push a button pull out the center and crimp a hot wire. Push back in and crimp a negative cable to the body. BUT You could hang a hot wire from the center down about 6 or so. Then clamp car jumpers cables to the hot wire and black to the body. This would be a cheap way to make a backup plug.

Haven’t used yet, but note that what you see is what yiu get - a bare plug without any hot to ground wires. Those much be procured elsewhere and installed (crimped) onto the unit’s bare terminals.

Bought this for my plane to practice on the ground with power. The part showed up by itself, no instructions on how to set it up. Assuming that it works, the price is not bad. Some instruction would really help.

Q: What gauge wire is recommeded for use with this plug?

Any wire under 0 AWG can be used with this plug.

Q: Can I assume that the exterior clamp is for negative & the plug can be disassembled to connect a positive cable? Also, would this fit the external power port for a 1978 Piper Archer II?

Yes the exterior clamp is for the negative and the positive is held in with a set screw. It should fit the port on your aircraft provided you have this type of receptacle.

Q: Someone please tell me if this plug will fit a 1969 Piper PA-28 200 R Arrow. Thanks!

Yes, this should fit this aircraft.

Q: I am attempting to construct an external power plug and this one appears to be the right style, but my plane is NOT a Piper. Can you provide me with the plug dimensions (plug diameter, center probe diameter, etc.) Thanks.

This will have the dimensions of:
1-1/2" Outside Diameter
0.632" Inside Diameter
0.475" Outside Diameter of Inner Connector
4.215" Length

Q: What is the current and voltage rating of the plug?

This will work with 12-28v systems.

Q: Is this plug is also fit the Beech 19?

There is not an AML for this plug, but if you have the round style receptacle it will work.
