I bought this for my Piper Cherokee 140 to verify what fuel tank quantity is on my airplane. My OM is for a 150, 160 & 180 Cherokee and my Qref Book is for a Cherokee 140. There are specification differences and this tool verified the size of my tank.

Nothing special. Accurate and effective. Used on a PA-28R-180 1969 Arrow. Felt like it’s slightly over priced, but I’m happy with the purchase. If this one ever fails or wears out I’ll replace it with the same product.

In essence a straw with a piece of demarked paper inside. How long will it last - we will see. Had a generic one before that had marks edged in outside of plastic straw. Yes, had to calibrate it but would have lasted forever had it not been left at a fuel island.

This is one of my favourite purchases Ive made for my Warrior. Its been a lot more use than things Ive paid 10× or even 100× as much for. To go from 4 to 5 stars, they could attach something to the top (a wrist lanyard, maybe) to keep it from slipping down into the tank if your not paying attention. Thats never happened to me -- it sticks out far enough that you can keep a good grip -- but its always on my mind.

Simple tube with a calibrated scale inside. A very good value in my opinion It’d take at least 2 hours to defuel a full wing tank on the ramp, then add it back a gallon at a time, calibrating your own homemade stick as you go. You’d be working for little more than minimum wage!

A simple , direct read indicator - beats trying to guess how much fuel you have when below the tab. Needs a lanyard or some other method for retrieval in the event that it gets dropped into the fuel tank ( with students its bound to happen).

Does the job, a bit pricey for what it is, but nice to have consistent readings. It would be good if it came with an explanation on what part of the tank opening to insert it - there seems to be a gallon or 2 difference depending on where I put it, so I take a few readings and mentally average it. Would be good to know what is considered Reference. Otherwise, nice to have along.

Reviews are good but bought mine in July had to do interior before flying consistently and 5 months later when I tried it a couple of times, the numbers on it were not painted on but merely a sticker and came off. I hope it is not in my tank. Requesting and answer from them.

Very cheap plastic. Disappointed in the overall feel of quality. I ordered a Cessna indicator last year which was great. This feels more like a plastic straw than anything. It has a paper type level indicator that probably won’t hold up.

The fuel stick worked great for the first few times when utilized, however the fuel level indicator insert fell out and disappeared in a brisk wind. I was shocked to say the least. Prior to this incident the level indicator was very accurate. Pilotshop may want to consider purchasing a better quality indicator from another vendor.

Great for preflight planning, but as previously mentioned it a bit overpriced for what it is.

It functions...., however as Scott mentioned, it really is nothing more than a plastic tube with a loose fuel-proof paper ruler inside. I feel somewhat embarrassed knowing that I paid $17.00 for it.

Plus: It appears to be calibrated correctly for my PA-28. Minus: Its a piece of fuel-proof paper in an acrylic tube. Seems like $16.95 is pretty steep for what it is.

The scale inside the tube isn’t fixed so it can slide up and down within the tube which varies the reading by up to five gallons! Dumbest thing I’ve seen in awhile. What a joke!

this is a nice plastic tube, but the calibration card inside slides up and down. when fully down, the reading is off by 2-3 gallons. when i adjust the card to show a know quantity, i feel that i cant trust it since the calibration strip may move between checks. a tube with markings directly on the plastic would be better.

Had it for two years, it never gives accurate reading. First of all it is for Cherokee 140, 25gal tanks. I ordered mine for Warrior (48gal.) and I was told that it is fine. It is not. Moreover the scale inside the tube slides insecurely. My eyeball reading is better than this gage. The 17gal. tab is off by 2 gallons. Anyone who pays $17 dollars for this is not alright.
