You know how frustrating it can be to remove a painted over screw only to wind up chipping up the paint job. But you wouldn’t have that problem if you had a set of these innovative paint cutters. They work by slicing through the paint around the head of the screw so you can remove it without chipping the paint. They have a 1/4x28 thread to fit into any angle drill, or you can get the optional arbor (p/n 12-02460) for use in a drill chuck. Complete kit includes 5 cutters for #4, #6, #8, #10, and 1/4" screws, plus the Arbor Adapter for use in regular drill chucks. Designed to work with flush head screws. |

Paint Cutter/Arbor Set 6Pc
I too ordered these and noticed that the arbor was not turning true and made the end wobble around. I contacted Spruce and actually got a replay from the manufacturer. He sent me two new arbors that he said he checked personally. It then worked pretty well for cutting paint around the screw head. I give it 4 stars because it was frustrating to have to delay my project while getting it resolved. However if I could rate the customer service from Spruce and the vendor Id give it 5 because they did make it right.
The arbor that I received in this set was crooked and therefore rendered the cutters useless. It was like pulling teeth getting Aircraft Spruce to send a replacement arbor. This might be my last purchase.
The paint cutter arbor that I received is crooked and wobbles in the drill. It looks like quality control is lacking. The two parts that make the arbor assembly look like they got out of alignment as they were pressed together in a machine press. My associate who bought the same set at the same time did not have this issue. I am waiting for a response from Aircraft Spruce.
