The AV-17 is designed specifically for mounting to the underside of an aircraft, providing an excellent radiation pattern for air-to-ground communications. It has a 4-bolt mounting base and a low profile configuration that makes it ideal for helicopters and low-wing aircraft. The antenna is designed to operate at speeds up to 350 mph and altitudes up to 50,000 ft. It has a drag force of 0.66 lb @ 250 mph. |

Great antenna to mount on the belly of the aircraft. I added a second radio and this is the second antenna of the same type. Works well.

The AV-17 came with a mounting kit that included all the hardware and a back plate. EZ installation and it works great.
Haven’t had a chance to verify operation yet. Fit-up and appearance are excellent. This antenna replaced a similar antenna as part of an avionics upgrade that is not yet finished.
A very nice and well made com antenna, very straight forward installation, but be aware that in the accessories it surguests that you reguire a Rami installation kit 11-14059. The com comes with the kit so do not waste your money like I did.
