If all you want is EGT/CHT then the basic kits gives you everything you could want in a compact size with full customization features and the legendary JPI quality and accuracy. The Engine Data Management 350 system is the most cost effective, reliable piston engine experimental EDM instrument on the market. The basic kit includes:

The compact Engine Data Management 350 system (3.5″ square) is the most advanced and accurate piston experimental engine-monitoring instrument on the market. The EDM 350 is not just another black box along for the ride. It is a Flight Engineer, Maintenance Manager, and Backup Instrument. For the price there is nothing that gets close to it. Customize with 17 options, including FF. You can think of the EDM 350 as your personal flight engineer. It’s always there, working in the background, constantly watching over your engine while you concentrate on flying the aircraft. You can make an entire flight without ever pushing a button, if you so choose. Yet your EDM will be monitoring your engine parameters three times a second and will warn you instantly if any parameter exceeds the programmed limit.

Difference between the Basic/ Full Package:
  • Full comes with the P5- has the capability of AMPS1, fuel pressure, fuel level/tanks, and volt2.

Great unit. I installed it in my Christen Eagle. Kit is complete with everything you need and other than being time consuming, was a very straight forward install. I just went with the basic CHT/EGT kit, but will add other options later which is simple once the gauge is installed. The display is very nice and bright, and scans automatically through all cylinders. Very easy to understand and use. Finally found a unit that has EGT and CHT in one, color display. Also show system volts.

The instrument seems OK. But forget it if you need technical support. Its horrible. Front line person doesnt know anything and back line never return your calls. I should have gone with EI.

I bought a 350 recently. The unit is good. Unfortunately, JPI customer service is a mess. They forgot to include the panel mounting bracket. Then the mailed it to the wrong address. Holding up the whole project.....Oh JPI....work it out already.

The “Full package” doesn’t come with all the sensors needed to run the motor, by the time you add everything it’s cheaper and better to upgrade to the 740. The rep I spoke with told me it came with everything, so I had trouble returning it because these are special order. JPI was shut down and had no one to help so my plane is grounded till they come back to work.

Q: Interested in the JPI EDM-350. What is the cost for CHT probes, EGT probes and FF?

CHT and EGT probes are included. Fuel Flow must be ordered separately.

Q: This EDM 350 looks like an interesting system but there is no mention of required senders/probes and their cost. If it only takes the JPI senders used for certified installations then that would double the cost for the complete installation? If it accepts automotive senders than the cost would be much more attractive.

Q: Are probes for oil temp and oil pressure included with the JPI EDM 350?

No, these are available as additional options. EGT and CHT are the only probes that come standard.

Q: To order the fuel flow for the JPI EDM 350, it's confusing, do I have to order a separate transducer, and why do you ask if its for 201 or 231, there is no information anywhere about the fuel flow management to upgrade the 350, not even on JPI web site?

If this is a new install then yes you, will need to order the transducer. If you had a FS 450 and wanted to replace the unit with a EDM 350 you could use the older JPI transducer.

Q: Can the CHT probes be of the gasket type? Id like to install on a C90-16F engine (same basic engine as a C85 & O-200) How do you specify Gasket CHT probes?

You will need to specify this in the special instructions box when you add this to your cart. You can also specify this in the necessary order form that you send in at time of order.

Q: I have oil temp/pressure, MAP and Amp probes connected to analog gauges. Can these be used with the 350?

No, you can only use JPI probes with the EDM 350.

Q: I know this question has been asked more than once, but just to be clear, the basic unit comes with the appropriate number of EGT and CHT probes, correct? 4 cyl unit has 4 of each and 6 cyl unit has 6 of each?

Yes, that is correct.

Q: What is the difference between the JPI EDM 350 basic package and the the full package?

The difference between the basic and the full packages are the functions that are included.
Basic includes: RPM+EGT/CHT Bar Graph, Fuel Flow, Volts, OAT, Flight & Tach timer and Local & Zulu time.
Premium includes: RPM + 5 add'l Primary Functions, AND up to 5 non-primary functions, that can be displayed on a secondary page.
