Q: What is the shortest length I could cut these friction lock controls back to? I would like one to operate a bellcrank behind the firewall. Regarding Part # 05-09436

The flexible housing is approx. 5-3/8" from the panel mounting point. The cable can be cut at that point, but you will need to cut longer than the 5-3/8" for the inner cable to attach it to to part / bellcrank.

Q: Could you please provide the weight of this control? Black knob / 36-Inch (05-09436)

The approximate weight of this control is 0.7 lbs.

Q: Can you please confirm the outside diameter of the cable housing and of the inner wire for the A-820 friction lock control?

The housing has a 1/4" O.D. and the inner wire is .078".

Q: What sized hole should I drill into the panel where the panel nuts lock the housing into place?

The A820 requires a 1/2" hole in the panel to secure the knob end of the cable to the panel.

Q: How do you clamp this A-820 friction lock cable? The 05-03287 cable clamp says specifically it will not work on the A-820. I am unable to find any other resources on your website. Thanks, Matt

The Cable Safe, P/N:05-16250, or Cable Safe II, P/N: 05-16252, can be used with an A-820 cable.

Q: Do you have exact dimension from flat surface mount and attache area centre of groove or dimension are from flat surface mount to end of cable?

It is 36" from the panel mounting point to the tip.
