This is the adjustable version of the cowl mount. This means it can be adjusted for a longer or shorter stud, not adjusted otherwise for alignment. This is for the traditional 1/4 turn studs that have the springs on them, not the OEM Cessna used till roughly 1986 on the 172s This unit is for Cessna aircraft that have been converted from the S1115 series Soutco fasteners to the Skybolt series. It is a little tricky unlatching the tiny little adjustment screw but once unlatched, it adjusts pretty easily.
These worked, but I found them to be flimsy and poorly constructed. One of the locks broke before I had even installed them on the aircraft. I was able to repair it, but I would not buy these again.
Garbage, hard to adjust, these are now what is offered to replace the ones that came in my complete cowling kit, do not like at all !
Very weak. Lasted about 6months. Looking to replace AGAIN. Do not buy it.
great service but product is crap , flimsy, impossible to adjust even though instructions say you could do it blind folded and yes I have the right tool
