EIS-41000 / EIS-41000IC The EIS-41000 Electronic Ignition Kit is a fully STC'd kit for most Lycoming 4cyl engines. Replacing one magneto with the EIS-41000 will typically improve fuel economy on average by 10-15% (many operators have reported consistent fuel savings of 1gph or greater). Additionally, there will be an improvement in horsepower, smoother engine operation, and improved high altitude performance. Installed on a ‘62 Mooney 350 hours ago and still loving it. Easier cold starts, strong high DA takeoffs. A bit more complicated to install than the Surefly with additional control boxes to find places for.
Improved high altitude climb and fuel burn. Easier starts along with a smoother running engine makes this system a good deal.
Installed this unit on my Piper PA-28. The unit just stopped working and despite working with the manufacturer on repeated attempts could not get it working. After awhile the manufacturer just stopped answering our calls. Reinstalled the original Slick Mags and the plane has run just fine! This was a several thousand dollars mistake.
