The EA-13000 is approved ignition switch panel with STC to control both the Electroair electronic ignition system (EIS) and the magneto. The panel comes in two versions, a horizontal one and a vertical one. This set of ignition switches is approved to replace the outdated and venerable rotary key-switch. By making this change, a couple of things get accomplished: first, the AD that accompanies most rotary key-switches is eliminated; second, the problem of faulty contacts inside of the key-switch which can cause a delay in the EIS from coming back on, is eliminated; and third, because the operation of the ignition systems (both the magneto and EIS) are returned back to the traditional way aircraft engines are supposed to be operated, pilot operation and aircraft safety are improved. The switch panel does require that if the remaining magneto is NOT a starting magneto, the switch for the mag be left in the OFF position for starting. All of this is explained in the AFMS that accompanies the Switch Panel. |

Both the horizontal and vertical units are 3.25 x 2 inches. The horizontal unit requires a 2.5 x 1.25 inch panel cutout. The vertical unit requires a 2.5 x 1.5 inch panel cutout.
If you have a dual EIS system, Electroair recommends using their EA-15000 switch which we can order. It is labeled "Left & right" rather than "eis & mag." To place an order, please contact our sales department for price and lead time of the EA-15000.
This is designed to work with the electroair system, so it would not work unless that is installed.
