Overview

SkyMark, patent pending, is a specialized cleaning tool made of 100% recyclable and biodegradable cotton with personnel safety in mind. Since each wipe is presaturated with phosphate ester fluid, there is no need for maintenance personnel to spray or pour fluid, increasing safety. Cost effective, simple to use, and safer than traditional methods, SkyMark is compatible to use with Skydrol® or HyJet® type IV and V fluids. The Boeing Company has provided a statement of acceptable method to use SkyMark on their airframes.

SkyMark General Specifications:

Wiping material:
  • Shall meet AMS3819 specifications.
  • ISO Class 5 (Class 100) and above cleanroom applications.
  • Shall be 100% recyclable/biodegradable cotton.
  • Shall be low lint, no fraying, and high strength.
  • Shall be 100% natural fibers to ensure entrapment of particles down to 5 microns.
  • Shall have maximum absorbance.
  • Shall be nonabrasive texture that provides superior contaminant removal.
  • Shall be static free.
  • Available in the following size: 9inX9in (81 in2) (Cotton is a natural fibric and will distort during wipe manufacturing process. All dimensions are ± 0.25 inches).
Hydraulic fluid BMS 3-11 Type IV Class I, NSA 307110N Type IV:
  • Designated as SkyMark part number 9X9-SM-IV.
  • Shall have a wide operating temperature range -62 to >150oF.
  • Shall have excellent oxidation and corrosion inhibitors.
Hydraulic fluid BMS 3-11P Type V Grade A&C, NSA 307110N Type V:
  • Designated as SkyMark part number 9X9-SM-V.
  • Shall have a wide operating temperature range -62 to >150oF.
  • Shall have excellent oxidation and corrosion inhibitors.
Warning: Do not use on aircraft landing gear struts.

Features

  • SkyMark is suitable for seals made with butyl rubber or ethylene-propylene elastomers.

Specifications

  • 9X9 size part number 9X9-SM-IV or 9X9-SM-V
  • Wipe shall be fully saturated with Type IV or Type V hydraulic fluid.
  • Hydraulic fluid shall not drip from the wipe.
  • Shall have a two year shelve life from the date manufactured stamped on the bottom on each package.
  • Shall be stored in a cool dark place.
