The fleet of general aviation aircraft is aging. Mandated maintenance promotes reliability, but experienced pilots know mechanical issues can still arise, sometimes far from an open FBO. This Pilot's Tool Kit provides the most common tools and other contents to help get you airborne, including a set of combination wrenches, 8" adjustable wrench, tire pressure gauge, locking pliers, 6-in-1 screwdriver, hex wrenches, and diagonal cutters. A special aviation spark plug socket handles most spark plug makes, and a way-cool mini-ratchet and socket set provide additional utility.
Finally, a telescopic mirror, cable ties, and 30 feet of aviation-grade safety wire are included. Everything is nicely organized into a tough roll-up pouch. Tools carry a lifetime warranty and are made to precision tolerances using pro-grade alloys, but more importantly they are absolutely dependable when called upon. |

Nice little kit. PSI gauge only goes to 50.
Pilots Tool Kit
Works fine and convenient. The spark plug socket is larger drive than ratchet provided but the adjustable wrench is big enough to grab it. They should probably include an adapter though. Cheap fix.
Pilots Tool Kit

Got this a few years ago thinking it was silly and overpriced. I was wrong- it has come in handy many a time, even when Im working on the airplane at the Hangar and I left the $%^&* 1/2 inch wrench in the garage. Surprisingly versatile, not too big, and quality. Seems steep but worth the change. After all, $90 in aviation is nothing.
I wanted something to have in my 1952 Cessna 170B. The quality of the tools is excellent. I think it has a very good variety, yet keeps the weight down. The small ratchet is awesome!!
Feels solid and like descent quality tools. The selection of tools appears right to handle most pilot authorized repairs (i.e. spark plug replacement). The weight is very reasonable too! The storage bag/wrap holds things snuggly and fits nice and small under a seat in the back. I think having a few tools and some spare parts makes it less likely that someone will dangerously try to limp home a broken airplane :-)

Per supplier: 4" Diameter x 9.5" Long rolled up. Weight is approx. 3.5 lbs.
It does not fit the ratchet. You would need to carry a 3/8 drive ratchet or use the adjustable wrench on the nut end of the socket.
