Im a learning pilot, w/ 200 hr in variety 172 spam cans, PA22, few flights Decathalon & Pitts. Got honeycomb yoke for scenario based practice, and have Saitek as side by side. Frankly the Honeycomb yoke for $250 is amazing to me, fit finish, feel and fluidity of the mechanism. i definitely prefer it over the saitek. the red backlight panel makes sense in a darkened room, similar to night flight training - which some reviewers dont seem to understand & likely have never done a actual night GA.

Ive only flown it for maybe six hours or so and this feels great. It reminds me a lot of the feel of a Piper or Cessna yoke. Connecting it to FS2020 was seamless. Im anxiously awaiting the throttle quadrant that I ordered a few months back.

Absolutely a joy to use. So much easier to fly and operate aircraft than my previous setup (stick and racing wheel/shifter controls.) Well designed and solidly built. It took quite a while to arrive (due to huge demand) but it was worth the wait. If you are into flight simulation check this unit out.

The build quality seems to very good. A delightful experience over the joystick I was using in Xplane 11. I thought at first the elevator action was a little stiff, but with the proper trim setting it works very well in normal flight. I certainly would recommend it to anyone. I plan on downloading Microsoft Flight Sim in a couple of days and I am looking forward to using the Honeycomb yoke in that program. The experience with Aircraft Spruce was also 5 star.

Everything was said in the previous reviews. If it was possible, I certainly would give it more than 5 stars. Solidity, look&feel, buttons, professional look. The only thing Id like to see improved would be to fit it with a mini USB hub to plug in a throttle quadrant and rudder pedals. Because when you fly VR with the link cable, you sometimes have to make a choice on some laptops that only have 2 or 3 USB connectors.

I was using a x-box controller, this was a major up grade. If they could add force feed back on landing it would increase realism. I did order it on back order, but was shipped fast.

The yoke worked perfectly with MSFS 2020 right out of the box. Only requires a USB connection (no external power source needed) Flying with it was a whole new experience (in a good way) I did need to calibrate it to eliminate some dead zones on center, but after that it worked perfectly. Highly recommended! Exceptional value!

Joystick is amazing and really changed the flight sim experience for me! Ive been using a HOTAS joystick since I started with flight sims, and Ive wanted one of these for years. Honeycomb was a really good first yoke. I really like that it has a full 180 degrees of rotation instead of the 90 degrees with most other consumer yokes. The build quality is very sturdy, with the exception of the engine ignition switch. (It feels a little cheap, and I wish the start position had a rock-back feature so it didnt just stay on the starting position. I just ended up reassigning the switch to something else. The rest of the switches feel great. The only downside was that I ordered this right at the height of a popularity surge in Microsoft Flight Sim and it took 3 months to arrive due to an extreme backorder situation. (This is not Aircraft Spruces issue. Corona Virus isolation created a need for escapism, and with YouTube video game lets play channels reviewing the heck out of MSFS, it created a vacuum for flight sim hardware! Its cool that its creating a new market of products for new enthusiasts. Its actually quite exciting!) I will be purchasing the Honeycomb throttle quadrant next, and a set of foot pedals.

Ive been flying simulators going back to (and possibly before) the first Flight Simulator on an original IBM PC. Ive used dozens of peripherals and have tested literally hundreds (I owned a QA company in the games industry). Few products hit the sweet spot like the Honeycomb Alpha of balancing a workable price with a high-quality product. Sure, you can spend a LOT more for a yoke, but this product matches 95% of products costing several times more. For under $300 this yoke feels surprisingly substantial, gives a sense of deep authenticity and even goes above and beyond with the LED. Why the LED? Isnt it just for aesthetics? Nope. We often fly in the dark. Then we struggle to write things down (frequencies and such) and struggle to read our own writing. Now you can just turn on the red LED and easily jot down notes without impacting your night vision. Brilliant! The only MINOR drawbacks are that youll need to get throttle controls in another device (like their upcoming Bravo Throttle Quadrant) and the buttons and switches on the yoke itself requires an extraneous cable to run from the yoke to the main housing. Its the only part that impacts the immersion. This is a trade-off. Other companies run this wiring through yokes post, but since Honeycomb uses a solid steel tube, theres no way to run wiring through it. Ill take that trade every time. The buttons and switches all work right out of the box in virtually any simulator you care about (mainly X-Plane, P3D and MSFS2020. For the vast majority of the flight sim community, this product will be the jewel of your peripheral collection. The enthusiast may want to squeeze out that last 5% by going in another direction. Thats another trade-off Ill take every time. I smile every time I take this product out, and thats saying something about a simple joystick.

Very good piece of hardware. Material quality is excellent. This yoke is a little pricier than other but so much better. 90 degrees rotation on both sides instead of 45 so you get the full range of motion. For the price you also get an embedded switch panel for ignition, avionics, lights, etc which would be an additional cost with the competitors. Unlike the Saitek yoke, there is no sticky center zone on the pitch axis which is a huge plus. Its the best mid range device you can get right now.

Big improvement over the Saitek/ Logi yoke I was using before. Very comfortable, sensitive, and great range of motion. Would recommend at least trying this one before jumping to something like a Yoko, might save some cash!

With this middle of the pack Yoke my X-plane Flight Sim time has gone from fighting with the system to focusing on the training. Upgrading from the entry level Yoke to the honeycomb had made my sim experience come to a new level. Note, I also fly Redbird Sims - their yoke is better, but also 5x the price. . .

Excellent mid range yoke that allows for much more control fidelity. This has made both X Plane and P3D a more effective training aid and a more enjoyable experience.

Upgraded to the Honeycomb Alpha flight yoke from the Logitech G Saitek PRO Flight Yoke System which was a definite improvement in control response. The only thing I miss are a button for braking. Awkward needing to reach over to use the keyboard. Construction is of superior quality, control yoke gives smooth movement in all axis. Now waiting on the throttle quadrant to arrive and complement the yoke to finish off my set up.

20+ years flight sim experience, US Private certificate The Honeycomb Alpha yoke is the best in this price class, and perhaps better than some more expensive controls. Its build quality is excellent. The manual has a couple of omissions, not explaining that the rubber plugs are for filling screw holes if you remove the top of the unit, and that the software link is bad. Regardless, you dont need to software for MS Flight Simulator 2020. Where it might become more useful is if using software that doesnt register more than 32 Direct X inputs. I havent needed it yet though. The reason that I give the controller 4 instead of 5 stars is that the spring rate for the pitch axis is too high. Had Honeycomb mirrored the spring rate and action of the roll axis, it would be perfect. The roll axis is nicely balanced and not overly stiff. Since a non force feedback controller cant emulate real life controls in that trimming reduces pressure at the point of deflection, having a really stiff pitch axis spring compounds the feeling that you are trimming pitch to reduce pressure at the center of movement. Im hoping that Honeycomb will fix this in version 2.0. Otherwise, very happy with my purchase.

I am very pleased with the overall build quality of the Honeycomb Yoke. I have not used it in sim, but I am reasonable sure of pleasing results. I am hopeful that Aircraft Spruce will continue to carry this product line. I have had excellent service with Aircraft Spruce over the years.

My flight yoke is too sensitive on left turns. The right turn appears to be normal. Therefore I cannot use it with crashing. I am researching the issue.

Overall good but some of the switches on the yoke work intermittently. Using on MSFS 2020

The action on the yoke is certainly better than a CH or a Saitek. The panel switches are a nice addition as well. Would be nice if instead of the fancy-but-useless bling of an LED accent lighting, they would instead simply illuminate those switches. Also, the software is absolutely deplorable. Lastly, the ignition switch exhibits very bizarre behavior in P3D in FSUIPC it doesnt even register past the Left mag position, and in P3D itself it inconsistently registers from one switch position to another. Overall a disappointment for something over $200, but if the stiction from CH and Saitek products are intolerable, this will solve that for far less than other premium, metal-constructed solutions.

Quality looks to be good, but I cannot get it to work. Also, Ive been waiting a week for Honeycomb tech support to return my call. I have the latest and greatest PC and software and still nada! I was ready to sell the Logitech gear that I got at Sportys, but not going to now. That stuff works.

It kept affecting the simulator and support was non-existant for Me. I returned the yoke.
