Q: Does this unit have an off position?

Yes, part number 6002 (mfg. Pn: 1g01-1) does have an on-off switch.

Q: Is this product approved for use in certified aircraft?

Yes, this is designed to work with the FAA approved UMA lighting components.

Q: Can I use this switch for a 12v system?

Per the instructions manual this does not depend on aircraft voltage. The manufacturer has light inverters for each voltage. This switch is part of those kits.

Q: Can this be used in conjunction with the UMA ring lights and an LED glareshield light?

Per UMA: the 6002 will work with the UMA ring lights. Depending on the voltage of the glareshield this may work. More information would be needed to answer for certain.
