I read the other reviews on this book and decided to pick up a copy with my most recent order from The Spruce. Ive been a commercial UAV pilot for several years, but recently purchased our first manned aircraft for flight training (Stinson 108). This book is a GREAT read for the student pilot like myself, an experienced bush pilot, or anyone in between who is looking to pick up fantastic information from someone who has been there and done it many times. Best to learn from someone elses experiences whenever possible is my opinion. I dont want to spoil anything, but the survival tips and information on securing your aircraft are top notch and useful for any pilot/aircraft owner who is seeking to improve their overall aviation experience.
This book is full of content you never learned from your CFI. It is all first hand real life experience that can be used in many situations, not just for short field backcountry stios. I couldn’t put it down.
If youre considering flying in the back country, this book is a must. There are several good books available that cover mountain flying in a general sense, but this book covers real bush and back country flying in detail with real life examples.
Fast shipment, great communication after ordering. Info in the book does not dissapoint!
Excellent book and it truly does apply to ANY pilot.
Good information but poorly organized. Would benefit from an editor (and this is the Third Edition!!)
