This conventional style ANR headset utilizes the Pilot Direct Noise Cancelling System, which directs noise cancelling toward the lower frequencies unlike any other ANR headset on the market. Embedded in the ANR technology is an Enhanced Voice Intelligibility (EVI) circuit. EVI enhances speech frequencies by 2-4 dB on all incoming radio/intercom audio. This unique combination of noise cancelling and speech enhancement gives this headset increased intelligibility and superior performance. The Headset’s comfort features include silcone gel ear seals and a pillow-top headpad. The full Flex Microphone boom can be adjusted to stay in any desired microphone position. Dual volume controls allow independent volume levels for each ear. A soft carrying case is included. The PA-1761T is equipped with our new Auto On/Auto Shut-off proprietary circuitry. The ANR will automatically turn on when plugged into an aircraft with the radio turned on or plugged into an active intercom. The headset will shut-off automatically when the headset is unplugged from the battery box or is manually turned off using the toggle switch on the battery box. The headset will also automatically turn off when the radio or avionics master switch is turned off. The headset is cell/satellite phone capable, and has a “true stereo” input jack so that the user can listen to music from a CD player, IPOD®, MP3® or external radio. The cell phone system is designed to work with either newer “Smartphones” that use a 3.5mm (4 conductor) input or older phone that use a 2.5mm input. |

Only have a few hours with this headset so take this for what it is worth. 1) They are very comfortable and no sweaty ears. 2) I wear glasses and they still do a nice job keeping the engine noise at bay. 3) The noise reduction works pretty well but like anything could be improved on. Now for the critical... 1) The Mic seems to miss the first bit of speech at times. Ive adjusted the mic and controls six ways to Sunday but it still occasionally clips the beginning of the first word when I start to talk... Not horrible but could use some improvement. 2) The bag is fairly thin and soft. It could use some supporting structure to protect the headset better, but hey... it comes with a bag! Bottom line... Its a very nice headset for the price point. I would definitely buy a couple more for the back seaters!
