Optimized for the High Noise Environment Sigtronics new two place Sport 200 and Sport 200 S Intercoms are designed specifically for Light-Sport and Ultralight aircraft. Tested at ambient noise levels of up to 120 decibels, their Sport series intercoms will outperform all other intercoms on the market. Dual Mode Operation Two modes of operation, voice activated squelch and push to intercom — perfect for open cockpit aircraft, give the Sport 200 intercoms maximum flexibility and performance. To this they added special internal circuitry to optimize the intercoms for the most demanding high noise environments. With over 30 years of experience we know how to engineer our products to provide high quality and long service. Stereo Music If you like to listen to music when you fly, then the Sport 200 S Stereo is for you. Use Satellite Radio, MP3 or CD players as your audio source with stereo headsets for true stereo sound. With full or partial music muting for intercom and full mute for radio reception and transmission, you will be able to enjoy your music and never miss a radio call. Compact Size Thanks to their small size only a 1” by 2.5” panel space will be needed. For even more convenience you can mount the intercoms horizontally or vertically. All hardware including headphone and microphone jacks are included with these easy to install intercoms. I installed this in an open cockpit biplane. The radios and intercom are now very quiet even though I used the voice activation option.
Great intercom
I bought and installed this unit into a two stroke pusher type LSA. Extremely loud cockpit. After a year and 80 or so hours of use I am very pleased with its performance. I installed the aux input jack and sometimes listen to music while flying. Music comes in crystal clear and auto mutes for radio rx or tx. Wouldn't buy anything else.
The Sport 200 (mono) is a big disappointment compared the Sport 200S (Stereo) that I have satisfactorily used many times. The Intercom volume is very weak in this model - compared to the S200S - per Sigtronics. The Mono version uses the radio headphone output for radio transmissions and sidetone - appropriate volume. But, the intercom audio comes from internal 200S audio output which is very weak. This is not identified in any of the information, leading us to assume the audio quality and volume would be the same as the Stereo model. Strongly considering requesting a trade-in of this Mono model with a Stereo model - but the wiring is not a straight plug-in switch. The two models are significantly different and this should be clearly identified before deciding which to purchase. For an application that was not going use stereo music input, the mono Sport 200 simply seemed like a less expensive option - not expecting it to be such week intercom volume.
I am with Greg W. on the Sport 200 mono. The volume of the audio is totally unacceptable. I called the tech line and they told me two modifications I could do with additional resistors and that would improve the volume. No such luck. After some research I have been told the s model has much better volume control. If I thought Sigtronics would let me trade this one on the s I model would be happy to do so even if it does mean a rewire. Disappointed Don H

The Sigtronics Sport 200/ 200S Two place intercom is designed for Light-Sport Category aircraft and is not TSO'd.
It would have to be wired appropriately, but yes, it can be used with the ultralight jacks.
Yes, as long as you use the Yaesu headset adapter that is included with the radio.
No, it would simply be how the audio is being output. However volume is not affected.
The plug style is dual GA type plugs. We do not have any data or experience with using this intercom in a race vehicle.
