Works as advertised! My indicator constantly read -199, this probe resolved the issue as the other was bad.

Purchased the C307PS probe for a GTX 335. Sadly there was no reference documentation which helped identify if the Red or Black lead was Input or Output needed to connect to the GTX or even the GAD 13. I figured I would share that through trial and error, it was identified that the Black wire from the probe is the Input and the Red wire is the Output. Also, given the recent announcement for the G5 software update which allows displaying outside air temperature (OAT) and true airspeed (TAS), it appears that the GTX 335 does not share this data with other devices or at least it does not appear possible at the moment.

Q: What gauge wire is used on the probe? Also, the GTX335 install calls for the wires to be shielded, with shield terminating at the probe. This does not appear shielded, Will it be OK for the 335?

Per the manual the model that they recommend for installation is C307PS which is our p/n: 11-04603. Per the note it is requesting thermocouple wire equivalent to what C307PS has.

Q: Are these probes used on certified aircraft?

This probe does not have certification on its own. It typically is included in the certification of the instrument you want to use.

Q: Will this Davtron 655 OAT probe work with the Garmin GSU 25?

No, you will need the GTP 59 OAT part # 11-06970 and the connector kit part # 11-11433.

Q: Does this probe work with Garmin GAD 13? How long are the leads?

No, you would need part number 11-04603.

Q: Is this Davtron 655 the correct probe (OAT) for uAvionix AV30C?

Part # 11-04603 C307PS is recommended by the AV30C manual.

Q: is the Davtron 655 a suitable input for the garmin GTX 330 es?

Yes this probe can be use with the GTX 330ES.

Q: I would like to repurpose my existing probe which currently has a very short wire run. Can I simply add 2-3ft of wire to connect to my AV30? If the wire is extended will the reading still be accurate? And what type of wire would be recommended if extension is possible?

Per the manufacturer: "Yes, you can add wire to the 7" probe assembly ( PROBE-7FT-RB ) without affecting calibration. Use 24 gauge or larger and if run next to a transmitting antenna, use shielded wire."

Q: Will this Davtron OAT Probe 655 work on a Uavionics AV30?

No, the correct OAT probe is part # 11-04603, C307PS.

Q: Will this work with the GNX 375?
