EA-5000 MAP Sensor The EA-5000 is what gives the Electroair system its efficiency. The MAP Sensor reads the manifold absolute pressure in the engine and sends a signal to the EA-1000 Controller which automatically adjusts the spark advance to the optimal point for achieving maximum power from your engine. As MAP goes down, the time required to complete combustion goes up, hence the need to advance the spark timing. The EA-5000 MAP sensor was developed over hundreds of hours of lab testing and thousands of hours of flight operation. The MAP sensor is often called a "poor man's turbo charger." |
