Overview

CamGuard® Automotive is a blend of high performance additives that fortify modern engine oils to provide the utmost in engine protection. Modern commercial engine oil formulations are at best a compromise due to government regulations and costs. These constraints lead to reduced additive concentrations and subsequently reduced performance.

CamGuard Automotive delivers uncompromised performance using the most advanced additive technology available to dramatically reduce friction and wear, decrease deposit formation and prevent corrosion when used in today’s commercial automotive oils.

CamGuard Automotive contains advanced antiwear additives that provide a dramatic reduction in wear when compared to current ZDDP (zinc) containing oils. This improvement in wear performance is especially important in older engine designs, using flat tappet valve trains, when using today’s mandated low zinc oils. An additional benefit of reduced wear is less iron in the oil, which promotes oxidation and deposit formation.

CamGuard Automotive utilizes the latest generation of friction modifiers that provide a measurable increase in fuel economy throughout the oil change interval.

CamGuard Automotive contains powerful multi-metal corrosion inhibitors that prevent rust and corrosion in seasonally or infrequently used engines.

CamGuard Automotive utilizes advanced antioxidants to prevent cylinder varnish and ring belt deposits. This is particularly important in the hot running environment of today’s higher output engines. CamGuard Automotive provides enhanced protection in the face of high levels of NOx and fuel dilution. It is excellent for Direct Injection (DI) engines, which are hard on lubricants.

CamGuard Automotive contains seal conditioners that nullify the effects of heat and time to keep seals supple, flexible, and performing like new.

CamGuard Automotive is safe for use in all passenger car gasoline engines and will not affect modern emission systems.

This is my first time using Camguards auto additive. Thought is might make sense for a seldom used motor home. I look forward to the comments of experienced users.

Magic product. My motor vehicle is approaching 700,000 km - using Camguard Auto for most of its life. Still runs well with same engine.

We own 4 vintage cars (64 TBird, 60 Triumph TR3, 60 Healey BugEye Sprite and 90 Jaguar XJS). Heard about this product through an article in the national Jaguar magazine. Just bought it in Nov 2017 and put it into the engines. Started them up and they did sound a bit smoother. Theyre in Winter Storage until April/May --- looking forward to a good experience next summer. Shipping from Aircraft Spruce was speedy and price was excellent

This is an update on my 1st review. After 500 miles. My 20 yr old engine is very quiet - no lifter noise . It pulls smoothly in all gears [ 5 speed]. I was amazed to see the fuel economy go from 30 mpg, back to the 34 -35 mpg I got when it was new. This is AMAZING stuff.!!! The fuel saving will pay for it in 2,000 miles.

Ive used Camguard in our Cessna engine so I decided to try it in my 20 yr old Chevy. I noticed that within 100 miles that a main seal leak has stopped. Its too early to report other affects but the engine seems to run more smoothly.

Q: What is the difference between the automotive Camguard and the aviation Camguard?

Automotive: Have supplemental anti-ware, works with little amount of zinc. Mainly put in older engines. Contains friction modifiers. Fuel economy boost. Different deposit control than aviation. Not for diesel.

Aviation: Nationalist product, different anti-ware properties, stand-alone anti-ware package, no friction modifiers, different deposit control than automotive, higher concentration of rust inhibitor, more rust protection.

Q: I see the Camguard Automotive bottle is 8oz. How far will that go? What's suggested, 8oz per 5qt?

Yes, you are correct an 8 oz bottle would be sufficient for 5 qts of oil.

Q: Can Camguard be used in turbocharged diesel engines?

Camguard does offer a diesel formula but we do not carry it. The standard Camguard is for use with regular automative fuel.
