Aero Classics now offers the General Aviation community the largest number of FAA-PMA (Federal Aviation Administration - Parts Manufacturing Authority) approved oil coolers in the world. Remote-mount oil coolers mount to the airframe or engine baffle instead of directly to the engine. Hoses are used to connect the oil cooler to the engine. This type of oil cooler is used with most non-Continental engines including all Lycoming engines. All FAA-PMA approved with supporting FAA 8130-3 documentation unless otherwise noted. All models have 3/8 NPT inlets and outlets. Note: Models 8000081, 8000706 & 8000942 are for experimental aircraft only. Not FAA-PMA Approved. |

I bought a replacement oil cooler because it started weeping oil so time will tell on this new one. Service was excellent and the cooler looks good.
The aero-classic oil cooler fits perfect to the installation of the original cooler (holes, geometry and piping) . Colling function appears to be as good as the original device.
Arrived quickly, well packaged, excellent support from manufacturer regarding installation in a Globe Swift . This is how it should be. Would buy from again.
Airworthiness paperwork was included. The oil cooler was safely packed and damage free. I couldn’t ask for better. PA-28-161, O-320-D3G
I bought this because my new engine was still having oil temp issues. Tried everything but a new cooler so finally tried the cooler . Seems to work so far. Price is fair and service from spruce is excellent as usual
Hoping this one lasts longer than the previous ones. They were same P/N Aero Classic brand and the last one only lasted 340 hrs before leaking. This is the 3rd oil cooler on this engine in only 850 hours since néw. These are not expensive coolers but apparently you get what you pay for

It takes 3/8 NPT -8.
Oil Cooler 8000075 has 3/8 ports.
Per the supplier: You may push air through the oil cooler using any method that you desire including the use of an electric fan.
The aircraft eligibilities are different but the only physical difference between the coolers is that P/N 8000661 has a half-moon cutout in one of the mounting flanges.
Per supplier: Yes, all models have 3/8" NPT inlet and outlets.
8.14" W X 5.33" H X 3.62" D
8.14"W X 5.74"H X 3.62"D
The oil coolers do not come with any mounting hardware. The 10 row P/N 8000081 oil cooler is shorter than the 13 row (P/N 8000215) oil cooler, so the mounting holes are not going to line up without some modification to the airframe. There is a 1.25 difference in height between those two oil coolers.
