Great tube, but the stem bends far enough to rub on a Cleveland wheel.

Ive just put these on so dont know how long they will last. Im sure a long time. My rating is based on the bent over valve stem. I can finally check my air pressure without fighting the valve stem. It comes out the wheel at 90 degrees. Easy to service.

These tubes rock. I put them on my Comp Air 6 and I havent had to add any air in a year. Most other tubes you have to top off about every three months.
As it says in the instructions, recheck pressure the next day after initial installation because the air trapped between the tire and tube will bleed off. After that they just dont leak.
Well worth the slight extra cost over standard tubes.

I really like the Leak Guard tubes. They hold pressure well. Typically, though they may lose a couple of pounds of pressure, I can go between annuals without adding air. I have wheel fairings on my plane (Cessna 140) with no access panel or port and the valve is really hard to get at. Using the 70 degree stem make it easier but still it is a pain.
I would have given them a 5 star rating, but a couple of weeks ago I had a flat on a tube that was caused by weird spider web like cracks on the sidewalk of the failed tube. The tube was also a Leakguard, and about 5 years old. I guess I can’t complain too much....5 years is okay Service life, but I expected more.

I like the ease of inflation but have had two inner tubes fail. The tube on the nose gear lost air and continued loose air. I removed it and it had a minute pin hole in the side wall area of the innertube and no puncture in the tire sidewall. I patched it and all was well for a while and then it started leaking again. So, I replaced it with one my old inner tubes. The tire on the left landing gear was flat when a went to the hangar. I hoped it was a leaking valve core, but once again it was a small pinhole leak on the side wall the inner tube. I have patched this one and am hoping it doesnt develop another leak. The third inner tube is still OK. The first inner tube failed twice within a year and the second failed within approximately two and a half years. There was no evidence of any punctures to the tires. The tires are air hawks. The lead at the FBO maintenance says if they are Goodyear they will not put them on an airplane because of all the problems they have had with Goodyear inner tubes. Failing inner tubes are a pain, time consuming and costly to those who have aviation maintenance fix them. I am not sure who makes them, seems like Goodyear, cant be sure.
