Left Hand Side Door Steward 200C10-1 | 05-11841 |
The Door Steward is an STC and FAA-PMA approved modification for aircraft doors. The modern gas spring greatly improves and replaces easily broken, malfunctioning mechanical type door stops and restraints that become ineffectual with repeated use and age. Pilots enjoy the fact that the Door Steward gently opens and firmly holds the door open. The Door Steward consists of a modern inert gas spring with all the necessary brackets and hardware. Detailed installation instructions are included and make it easy to install and requires virtually no maintenance. Model 200C10 |

I installed these in my C182 about 7 years ago. They have served their purpose well and flawlessly for many years averaging two trips a month with fuel stops. They continue to work well and softly open the doors saving strain on both the door frame and the door stop, even in strong winds. I am pleased with these and several of my friends who also have C182s have installed them with similar results.
These work good and are very well made and pretty easy to install. They do mount externally on the door shell and take up a little space which has not been a problem. I would probably prefer the OEM door closer but the outrageous price of a Cessna replacement (C210) made it an easy choice.
Left Hand Side Door Steward 200C10-1
We purchased one of these for the Right Hand side of our R182. It works as advertised and is helpful with passengers who do not know how light weight aircraft doors are on our sometimes windy tie down. We were surprised our shop billed us four hours for the installation of a single unit when the installation video we watched produced by an A&P estimated 40-45 minutes, so expensive lesson learned there.
The Door Steward is fantastic! I wish I would have bought this years ago. Installation is super easy, especially after watching the video.
prompt and great service cheers
When I got the aircraft I had to replace the left wing strut because the door had been hitting it for some time due broken door stay and had worn a groove beyond limits in the Strut. These have replaced the door stay and work perfectly .
Great product, easy install
I’m a pilot for AA and I’m starting 2 flying school. Is my first experience buying AC parts and is being a wonderful experience with you guys. Great company, great service, great product. 10 stars
Great service and prompt delivery
These Door Stewards work great! They hold the doors open, you don’t have to worry about a gust of wind closing the door while your getting in and out of the airplane. They work much better than the factory door stops.

Yes, these units are priced and sold as a pair. (left hand / right hand)
This installation does not qualify as preventive maintenance. It is an FAA-STC product that will require an A&P with IA authorization to sign the FAA Form 337 after installation. The installation is not complicated and the A&P may allow the owner to install, but the A&P would still have to inspect and sign off the installation.
Yes, there is a safety clip that is installed to prevent accidental disconnects. If the clip is removed the gas springs pulls directly off the ball studs.
Yes, part # 05-00922 is a kit of both left and right.
Per Vendor: That is rather propriety to the STC data package. The all of the loads and stresses were all evaluated by an FAA Designated Structures Engineer and a detailed report submitted to the FAA for approval. You can assure the potential customer that there are not any undo stresses. If the client is a member of Cessna Pilots Association their forums have discussed the Door Steward installation many times over.
Approx 1.4 lbs.
