Piper Aircraft Front Mounted Door Seal P301-23.

Nearly a year of development and testing went into creating this revolutionary Entry Door Seal for aircraft. Custom extruded from a special hybrid rubber compound, the seal is superior to any seal on the market.
The thick leg of the P301-23 is just under 3/8" thick. The thin leg is tapered.

Q: What is the difference between P301-1 and P301-23 (Door Seals)

Per the manufacturer, the only difference is the -23 is a little thicker. Other than that it just depends on the serial number of the aircraft to determine which one is required.

Q: My PA28-161 is a 1978. The serial numbers listed for this product is only through 1977. Is there a big difference, or will it work well on my aircraft?

Yes, your aircraft falls within the P301-23 (05-06859) seal applicability. It is meant to include seals starting at 28-7716001 and later (meaning 1978, 1979, etc..). Short answer, is yes, it will work for your aircraft.

Q: What is the thickness of the P301-23 material?

This is an L shaped rubber seal. The thicker side is 1/2" and the thinner side is 1/4".

Q: Do you have to apply adhesive? or does it have it ready to go?

You would need to apply an adhesive.
