The RCA22 Series of vacuum artificial horizon are controlled by air driven precision gyros to present the pilot with pitch and roll information. The attractive color scheme of blue sky and brown ground presents a realistic spherical display of flight. Unless otherwise indicated all instruments have a dark blue/brown display, fixed pointer and are unlighted. This is the "standard" display.
All RC Allen vacuum gyros run off of 4.5" Hg, erect time is 3 min. Instruments equipped with a warning flag will let you know when vacuum has dropped below 3.8" Hg. Flag retracts from view at 4.3" Hg. Instrument fits in a standard 3-1/8" panel cutout. 1/4"-18 NPTF nylon tube slip fitting is recommended for vacuum hose installation. 1/8"-27 NPTF nylon tube slip fitting is recommended for vacuum gage installation. Height: 3-3/8" Width: 3-3/8" Length: 6" Weight: 2.75 lbs. Meets or exceeds all requirements of FAA TSO C4c and Aeronautical Standard AS396B. Made in the USA |

Ordered online quick delivery. The Form 8130 was missing in the box, but I called and was emailed the form right away. Thanks Aircraft Spruce!
Good inexpensive Attitude Indicator. I didnt need to spend THOUSANDS on the electronic stuff. Works perfect!
Wish I lived on KFFC.
Worked great
Just installed the RCA22-7F (8 degree panel, non-internally lighted with blue over brown colors and Vac flag) in the co-pilot position of my 421B. Great looking instrument, shorter in length than the original so some plumbing re-work was required, but I love the increased space behind the panel. Time will tell if it holds up as well as my last one (a non-RC Allen instrument that went 18 years and about 2,500 flight hours). Nice looking instrument. Though I have dual vacuums and electronic annunciation of vacuum failure it is nice to have the instrument flag to give immediate failure warning.
This was a vast improvement over my original 3.75 AH it is lighter and more accurate, it doesnt drift, its easier to read, and the markings offer more precise flying. It has definitely made allowed me to fly much better under instruments. I feel much more confident with this new instrument than my original.
