Overview

AeroShell Grease 64 Extreme pressure Airframe Grease is an EP airframe grease based on the proven lithium thickener technology of AeroShell Grease 33. It can help to extend component life through its exceptional load-carrying and EP properties from fortification using 5% molybdenum disulphide and its excellent wear and corrosion protection. It also helps to reduce the risk of product misapplication by being fully compatible with AeroShell Grease 33. Together, these greases are perfect partners, thereby helping to reduce costs by protecting over 98% of the grease application points on a typical airliner. AeroShell Grease 64 is fully approved to MIL-G-21164D.

Applications

  • AeroShell Grease 33 has established itself as the answer to most of the airframe’s General Purpose, airframe greasing requirements, being approved for use in Boeing, Airbus and many other aircraft types. It sets the standard with exceptional anti-corrosion and anti-wear performance while allowing aircraft operators to shrink their grease inventory and reduce
  • the risk of misapplication. However, there remains a small number of highly loaded, sliding applications on the airframe where the additional boost of molybdenum disulphide will always be required. To address this need, Shell Aviation has developed AeroShell Grease 64. Sharing the same advanced grease technology as its parent, AeroShell Grease 64 also possesses the extreme pressure (EP) characteristics provided by molybdenum disulphide. AeroShell Grease 64 contains a synthetic oil and must not be used with incompatible seal materials

Specifications

Shell makes great products and AeroShell is a step above.AeroShell 64 is a temp insenstive grease that will work -40 and lower and also performs great in staggering hot temperatures. And its probably the slipperiest grease made. And stays where its put.

I think the grease performs well, but it leaks massively from the grease gun if temps are over 75º where it is stored. I have never had grease leak from a gun like this grease does (as if it is separating inside the tube, thin layer of grease covering the bottom of the toolbox drawer where it is stored).
