Telex PT 300 PTT

I bought this Telex PT-300 push to talk switch to replace an identical one that I had used for 32 years. This product is obviously well made to have lasted that long in the blistering heat of Phoenix.

Did not work out of the box with my intercom system (PS Engineering PM3000), with button up behaved as though intercom had infinite squelch but did work as expected with button depressed. Proper functioning required small wiring modification. Otherwise 5 stars.

I gave it a four stars because its replacing one that got me chewed out by ATC (it stuck during transmission). Works excellent but when they go bad youre screwed if youre back up handheld isnt charged (what idiot brings an uncharged handheld and no charger to a plane...guess who!). I trained with these decades ago so Ill keep using them until I buy a plane with a yoke mounted PTT.

I like the product but the first time I used it it tends to stick. I would have hoped it would perform better for a few years

Very disappointed. Does not work with intercomm. Had to cut the plugs off and manually wire in to the mic plug.

Telex PT 300 PTT

June 30, 2024

Mike switch sticks on after about three years or two hundred hours of operations. Pushing just the edge of the switch causes it to stick on. Pressing in the middle is better. Once it begins to stick just replace it. This is my second replacement. It fits good on the yoke for an easy way to communicate.

Unfortunately the one I bought was not made to the quality of the older one it was replacing. Wire gauge was smaller and It would get stuck in the open position, which is unacceptable and unsafe in aviation. I would have to unstick it by pulling out on the button. not reliable enough for me.

Had to send back, I had no side tone with this PTT.

It worked for a bit. Then the buttons were sticking. For the cost of it compared to others, I do not recommend it.
