Reviews

Greatest idea since “sliced bread”! I purchased the Pro X Hub and cabling for the Garmin GNC 255A with Ki 204 indicator, PS engineering 8000 BT Audio Panel and the cabling for a KX 175 B, external Glideslope receiver and TKM MC 60. The initial installation of the Pro X Hub, NavCom , Indicator and audio panel was installed by an A&P (AI). The installation went well and everyone was “happy”! About two (2) years later, I had a different A&P (AI) install the KX 175 B, Glideslope and TKM MC 60. The installation went well and everyone was “happy”! So far so good. The piecemeal installation (due to budget constraints) was going as “advertised”. Time to purchase a GPS unit and existing TKM MC 60 indicator, utilizing the FastStack cabling system and connecting a brand new RC Allen mini 6. I could not “find” an A&P (AI) to make this add on installation. Consequently, I contacted several “Radio” shops I had previously used in the past and was told the same thing from each. They were not interested installing utilizing the FastStack System (due to the fact, it “takes most of the Labor “away” from them)! I finally contacted the “Factory” of the FastStack System and asked for an estimate from their shop to install this simple add on utilizing their FastStack System. The estimate came in at a minimum of 30 hours Labor and $50 shop supplies. Approach FastStack’s Website claims a complete Radio Stack should take no longer than 3 hours Labor utilizing their System. When questioned about their estimate, they withdrew their estimate . Therefore, if you are planning on utilizing the Approach FastStack System on a “Certified” Aircraft, I suggest “finding” a shop willing to provide a “reasonable” estimate” before committing to purchasing the FastStack System! In spite of this development, I am still a “Satisfied Customer” and “Love” the concept! I understand the independent radio shops position ( although, isn’t some of the labor better than none of the labor)? I don’t understand why the Manufacturer of the FastStack System will not install their own system in accordance with their own claims of saving “labor costs”! Lloyd Mason 217 737-5507

Just as advertised. Install was much simpler.

Incredibly clean and simple install. Avionics wiring harnesses are as quality as you can get. I was able to isolate all avionics wiring separate from the airframe wiring, greatly simplifying future troubleshooting and repair of airframe systems. However, I’m so impressed with the quality of the avionics install, I doubt I will ever see any problems in the harness assemblies themselves. Hats off to an idea that has been long overdue in the aviation industry.
