Overview

Overcasters® are a lightweight, simple, and effective view-limiting instrument training device for pilots. With a frosted, clip-on visor that attaches to a prescription eyeglass or sunglass frame in seconds, Overcasters eliminate the discomfort of straps, helmets, or hoods. When flipped down, Overcasters provide near perfect simulated instrument conditions, and when flipped up, the device serves to mimic “instrument-to-visual” transition.

When not in use, Overcasters can remain attached to your glasses or be clipped onto a kneeboard, notebook, or flight bag for easy storage. Manufactured for flexibility and durability, Overcasters are widely accepted by FAA examiners for use in practical tests and checkrides. Made in Korea.

much better than the cheezy Jepp version (which broke when I sneezed). I wear glasses so these are great. Need a bit of adjustment before each flight but its worth it to not deal with something on your head plus wearing glasses. I should have ordered these at the beginning of training.

Q: I am concerned the clip part will scratch my prescription lenses? Better pictures of the clip and what they are coated with would be beneficial. Thank you

The clips have a protective rubber coating, that you can see in the 2nd and 3rd photos.
