Reviews

Not the most exciting purchase, but it did include a nice snakeskin protector for the wire junctions.

Kit was as advertised and everything I expected. Came with all necessary hardware and installation instructions. Alcor has their number listed on all the paper work, and I was even able to call them and have a technicals question answered- that was very nice. It’s basic- but works.

Good product but I wanted to clarify that the install requires a very specific hole size of #30 drill bit-to hone. If you are replacing an EDI (or other non Alcor probe), and you have a hole larger than #30 drill, you will need an adapter for this.

So far very happy with the purchase, installed without issue and price was reasonable.

The probe was easy to install on the exhaust. All that was needed was a screwdriver. Connect to the leads and gauge and you are done.

The leads worked perfectly with the probe. After connecting them to the probe, they were inserted through the firewall and then to the gauge. All too easy.

Q: On the Alcor Basic EGT gauge 46150, how many degrees do the major and minor tick marks represent?

The large ticks are at 100 degree each starting as 1200F and the small ticks are 25 degrees each.

Q: Is this simple system compatible with a certified engine on a Cessna 150K model? And, how does the exhaust probe mount? Thanks!

This unit uses a 3 1/4 - 3 1/8 hose clamp. Please check with your local Aviation office to see if this PMA is ok for your aircraft.

Q: Whats the difference between the J and the K lead of the alcor EGT system?

Type j and type k thermocouple leads are two different alloys that react with one another based on the thermocouple effect. Each egt/cht gauge requires a certain thermocouple type to respond properly.
