A very practical item, the logbook is especially useful for noting important parameters of your flight such as: time, night/day, departure and destination airports and whether or not you could see something outside. It even has a handy notes section for detailing those hard to remember items like “intercepted over the frz today”.
ASA Standard Pilot Log, Hrdcvr Navy
My wife and I each bought one of there when we started training. We each have quite a stack now. Much better than having one ponderous tome which won’t fit un the side pocket of a headset bag.

They are the most preferred among CFIs because they have more room, they also happen to be inexpensive.

A log book is a keepsake and this is what I give my primary students after their first flight. They hold up well and most of the endorsements are correct. I have tried different log books and this one works the best for me. Perhaps it is because this is what I was given seven log books ago after my first flight.
I have been using these for decades. They are a good compromise between detail and size of the logbook.
