Overview

FAA NORSEE APPROVED

Multi-Color Aircraft LED Maplighting.

The body of the maplight is constructed of aircraft grade 6061 T6 aluminum and black anodize treated for protection from corrosion. The LED bulbs and internal components are high quality components, and are engineered to withstand 150% of their rated voltage without damage. The wire is tefzel coated mil-spec wire used in certified aircraft and the component potting material is a two part epoxy making this maplight highly vibration and shock resistant. The average bulb life of the LED used in this product in excess of 20,000 hours of use and the maplight draws only 20 milliamps of power with virtually no heat produced. The Maplight 6 series is available either with all six LEDs of your color choice operating simultaneously, or three white LEDs and three LEDs of your color choice operating independently of the other color. The Maplight 6 series is compatible with all dimming systems.

Great product! Small and effective. I use two of the red and white version and they work as they should.

Q: Is this item dimmable?

Per the supplier: Yes, these LED Maplights are dimmable.

Q: Which are the dual colors available?

These lights are available in White/Red, White/Blue, and White/Green. You can select them from the "Color" dropdown list above.

Q: Will this give a 360 swivel? Where is the switch located to change lights from white to red?

No, the maplight does not swivel and is intended for stationary installation. The switch is located on the side of the light.

Q: I purchased 2 of the Oplite LED Maplight II - 6 LEDs back in February of 2013 and am getting to the point of wiring them in my RV10. Unfortunately, I am unable to locate the wiring instructions for them. Would you have a copy of the wiring instructions available? I dont want to mis-wire them and cause any damage. Thank you.

We have added the Installation and Specifications PDFs to the 'Documents' tab of the webpage. Please download and review them there.

Q: Is there a on-off switch as well as color light selector switch? Or is the light strictly panel powered?

There are no switches provided with the light. Per the manufacturer - you must also choose the proper switch for the aircraft. The switch part numbers are listed in the applicable aircraft parts manual. There is a difference in the switches as the single colored light assemblies use a single pole, single throw switch. The dual colored light assemblies use a single pole double throw switch with a center off position. The factory switch assemblies must be used unless an approved alternate switch is obtained.

Q: Do you sell the light switch and dimmer assembly?

Since this is a single color light, this would need a single pole single throw switch of your choice. As for the dimmer, something like 11-06674 would work for an experimental aircraft.

Q: Oplite says this can be used in certified aircraft. Your information for lamp is indicating for experimental built only. Youre listed on their website as an authorized dealer. What is the correct information?

This particular Oplite is not FAA-PMA certified, but it is NORSEE approved for use in ALL aircraft (not simply Experimental)
