Each Survival Kit must be sent in at least every 3 years to the manufacturer for recertification. This would be a $40 fee plus the cost of the contents that are to be replaced. Once the survival kit is opened it must be sent back to the manufacturer for recertification as the contents of the kit expand from 2 to 3 times the size of the case.
