Piper Sunvisor Catches Black

$33.85/Pair
Part# 13-04188

Overview

Many Piper aircraft have the same problem. The sun visor catches lose to stability, because the UV effect allows the plastic to become porous. These Piper Sunvisor Catches are made from a blended poly-plastic with a UV additive that will prevent UV corrosion.

A set contains two pieces with the required plastic rivets. They are available in white and black (used in Piper PA-38 Tomahawk). The set for the Piper Tomahawk contains two extra rivets.

Reviews

Perfect replacement part for the sun rotted originals.

I am presuming that the Tomahawk is different than the Cherokee. The Cherokee had a post and binder screw for the rear, or short rivets. The long rivets that went into the front, ball receptive hole, hit each other so I could not make the product tight to the wind screen pillar. I made my own binder screw assembly and they look great, work great and are tight. Product 5 stars, rivets 0.

Installed with some difficulty. The plastic rivets took a bit to figure out. A quick not or guide would have saved us some time. Once we got them figured out, no problem. Fit and works great.

I was glad to replace these catches, and they are quite ok. But they are a bit too tight for the sunvisor plastic stem... it is a bit hard now to get it out from the catch... there is a small risk to break the plastic stem when trying to move the sunvisor.
