Time-Rite is an instrument designed for precision timing of aircraft engines by direct measurement of piston travel. The features of the Time-Rite design a moveable slide pointer, and an adjustable calibrated scale, eliminate the need for finding top dead center and compensate for the variables involved in accurate piston positioning. Calibrated scales are available for most types of engines, and scale calibrations are obtained in cooperation with, and are approved by the engine manufactures. Because of the difference in spark plug locations and piston dome shapes, different pivot arms are available to adapt the Time-Rite to most aircraft engines. All arms are easily interchanged. Carries a Lifetime ATS-Pro warranty The complete Deluxe Combo Kit contains everything needed to handle every engine listed in the timerite manual. |

This item will not go on a Continental 520 engine without grinding or filing the cooling fins of the cylinder. I will not do this to every engine I attempt to check the timing on.
Time-Rite 18Mm/14MM Deluxe Kit
This is a nice tool but the kit contains no arms for the IO-360(M) Lycoming engine used in Diamond DA40 and my RV8. Also no arms for Continental IO247(B) used in Diamond DA20 aircraft. In fact it is unusable in most newer model aircraft. For $596 I have no aircraft in our fleet that can use this tool because the arms are not available.
