This is a companion tool to the ARC-360 lightning hole cutter. The Flanger-360 will form a 30 degree flange on 2024-T3 aircraft aluminum up to .032" thick and in diameters from 2 to 6 inches. Its polished hardened steel rollers gently and effortlessly form the flange as the operator rotates the tool around the lightning hole. Unlike other flanging tools that rely on the skill and eye of the operator, the Flanger-360 stays in constant position with the lightning hole via guide rollers as it progressively forms the flange. |

Just worked through 30 something rib lightening holes. This tool is quicker than making the tooling to press the flanges, and makes a cleaner, more consistent flange than the ones I pressed. It's not cheap, but does a great job. Leave the plastic coating on the backside/bottom of the piece, and then wax the top side (a candle works) to prevent galling of the alclad.

The minimum hole diameter is 2".
It will not, but if you can access the other side of the material you can get the same effect by flaring it from that side.
We do not have any experience in this application. It may work fine but we cannot say for sure.
