Q: Is this adapter plug n play? ie, just screw to the tray and good to go? Or is there some assembly/soldering required?

THE Icom MBA3 Rear Panel Adapter with card edge connector fits the Icom A220. The MBA3 allows A220 to fit into a panel mount previously occupied by King KY96A, KY97A, KY196A, KY197A.

Q: Will the MBA3 adaptor allow the Icom A220 fit in the A200 tray? And please answer the original question: Is this adapter plug n play? ie, just screw to the tray and good to go? Or is there some assembly/soldering required?

This MBA3 will require soldering and additional assembly. It is not plug and play. Per the manufacturer it will allow the unit to be retrofitted into the A200

Q: I would like to replace my old IC 210 E with IC A220. Do I have to use an adapter in order to install it into the old 210 docking receptacle?

The correct adapter needed will be an MBA-3/11-14470.
