In 1985 AC discontinued production of the popular “RT” series of mechanical tachometers. Mitchell immediately entered the market to fill the void. These tachs feature exceptional accuracy and reliability. Mitchell tachs come with a factory-direct 2 year warranty. The range on all models is 500 to 3500 RPM. Accuracy is +/- 25 RPM from 1000 to 3000 RPM. Determine the correct part number from the chart below. All Mitchell tachs are FAA approved to TSO-C49b for certified aircraft. 10-02354 for custom range marks (specify ranges, 45 day lead time). 10-02479 to set hours (specify hours, 45 day lead time). Direction of rotation is defined as when viewing the front of the tachometer. |

*The specific tachometer listed is best suited if the installation has this approximate cruise rpm. Direction of rotation must be compatible with the previous tachometer that was used. |
Good service and delivery
I bought this tach to replace an old failed unit. The old hardware was not usable on the new tach, and I recommend the available instrument install kit which uses a ring with 4 swagged nuts...make a simple install.!!
Mitchell Tachometer P/N D1-112-5032
Instrument arrived alive and on time. Price was the price everything in aviation is pricey, so no opinion there. The instrument is installed but due to weather, hasnt been operated. The mechanic had a bit of trouble installing it directly into the Aeronca 7AC panel hole some modifications were required. Overall, the rating is favorably neutral until we can use it in flight---spring, perhaps. Aloha.
Had the Tach Time set. Numbers misaligned. Shipped it back to Mitchell whose response is that is the way they are. Had markings put on the tach but they are not visible looking at the tach from the pilots seating position. I would spend the extra money and get a different tach.
