Aircraft Spruce assumes no responsibility or liability for any issue or problem which may arise from any repair, modification or other work done from this knowledge base. Q: Is this approved for certified aircraft?

No, this tach is intended for use in experimental aircraft only.

Q: Is this suitable for direct connection to magneto P lead?

The gauge adapts to a pulse or sinusoidal signal with VPP < 5v, 2/1 IMP/rev. Other number of pulses per rev may to be customized. Please refer to your engine specifications to confirm if this gauge will work with your aircraft.

Q: Does it have the green line or is it bare?

Yes. P/n 10-06343 does have the green range mark on the dial. Green arc from 1000-2700, red line at 2700.

Q: Where does the wire going to terminal 5 come from, and is it supposed to be shielded wire? The reason I am asking is that I only have one signal input wire. I took terminal 5 to ground.

Per the wiring diagram you would need a signal input to both terminals 1 and 5.
