Rapco RaP441CC-7 New Air Pump

October 23, 2024

Good price on new unit. I will pay more attention to what else people buy when they purchase a pump. (I should have bought filters as well). Greg

Perfect fit, easy to install (make sure you have some special wrenches to get to the lower inboard nut! Or buy the special wrench Rapco makes). Works flawlessly, have about 5 hrs on it now, no issues.

Q: Do the New Rapco Dry Air Vacuum Pumps listed on this page come standard with an 8130 form?

Yes. All Rapco approved parts now come with an 8130-3 form that is good for export as well as domestic.

Q: What is the difference between a RAP215CC and a RAP215CC-9?

Per Rapco: Any pump will run mounted in any position however the 215CC-9 dry air pump was primarily designed to hang vertically on the bottom of an Continental O-200 engine, in a location with a high probability of oil contamination. If oil gets into the pump it will gum up the vanes and they will cease to produce suction. Oil contamination is the number 2 cause of premature dry air pump failure next to foreign object damage. Airborne attempted to deal with this contamination problem by putting a slinger ring on the drive shaft to throw off any oil that might happen to drip down. The oil is slung into a channel with a drain hole to try to get it away from the shaft. It helps although if the oil problem is not soon resolved the pump will soon fail to operate. There were also a few other applications in which the aircraft manufacturer called out for this particular pump to go on aircraft with Lycoming O-320 engines, even though on that engine the pump is situated horizontally. On new RAPCO pumps we use a proprietary oil seal on the drive shaft, instead of the slinger ring, to deal with oil contamination issues. In addition to the RAP215CC-9 all of our new dry air pumps have it.

Q: Are dimensions available? Specifically the drive-face to rear dimension on the 216CW.

From the drive-face or mounting pad, to the furthest rear location is about 4.350 inches.

Q: Can you advise which filter goes with your 10-23925. RAP21500?

There is not a specific filter to pump application. The aircraft parts manual will show the filter used for that airframes vacuum system. Otherwise there are several to choose from, like p/n RA1J7-1.

Q: Does the rapco 215cc replace the rapco 211cc and are they the same dimensions?

Yes, they are interchangeable and will have the same external dimensions.

Q: Do the new Rapco dry air vacuum pumps come with a new gasket?

Yes the gasket is included.

Q: I have a tempest AA3215CC, is there a Rapco that can replace it?

RAP215CC new, our part # 10-23925. 215cc overhauled our part # 10-03084.

Q: I am replacing an Airborne 200CC vacuum pump. What is the new Rapco equivalent number?

P/N# 10-23925 will be the correct replacement as the 200CC has been superseded to the 215CC pump.

Q: I need to replace an airborne 215cc. Will this Rapco 215cc work?

Yes, the Rapco 215cc replaces the Airborne 215cc.

Q: Does the Rapco 215cc need an air/oil separator?

It does not, a RAP215CC is a DRY air pump and there should be no oil in the system to separate.
