No, this will not work with the Rotax 582 engine.
The UMA 2-1/4 Tachometer Rotax (10-01852) was designed specifically for Rotax 912/914 engines and is not recommended as the range markings are specifically made for those engines. A good alternative would be the UMA 2-1/4 Tachometer Rotax (10-01854) which support electric and CDI ignitions that support a 6 pulse per evolution signals.

The UMA 2-1/4 Tachometer is an electric tachometer that is connected by 4 wires. Red - Aircraft Power (+), Black - Ground (-), White - Signal input and yellow - Hour Meter Drive (where used).
The signal for the tachometer comes from the ignition side of the engine and is the only plug with two wires not connected to anything when you receive the engine. We have added the install sheet to the 'Documents' tab.
