A 2 Mil. (50 micron) high strength aluminum foil coated with an aggressive, high temperature acrylic adhesive system. The foil conforms well to both fibrous and sheet metal ducts, providing an excellent vapor seal. The malleable foil also conforms well around corners and to irregular surfaces. Coated with a special cold weather acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive system which combines superior quick stick at normal temperature with superior low temperature performance below freezing - this is the ultimate in cold weather tapes. Recommended for use at normal and elevated temperatures also. Applications: Primarily used for vapor sealing fiberglass ductboard and sheet metal ducts; can also be used on FSK systems. |

Very good adhesion to aluminum foil and bare aluminum sheet metal inside the cabin. I used it to seal the seams on the inside of my airplane cabin on the floor and on the firewall. I was replacing the old carpet in my old Mooney and some of the original aluminum/cloth tape had come loose. I cleaned the sheet metal with lacquer thinner (sparingly) then alcohol to remove glue, dirt and oil. To promote adhesion I used a roller tool I purchased at Aircraft Spruce, P/N 05-11984. To work the aluminum tape around rivet heads, screw heads, etc., I purchased a clay working tool at a crafts store. It is made of a hardwood and looks like a flat and rounded chop stick, about the length of a pencil.
