It hasnt been cool enough to test this for real, but it arrived on time, in good shape, and past the refrigerator test.

Using in 0- 15° temp, uninsulated hanger, warmed engine to over 50° in @ 3-4 hours (based on my highly calibrated HF laser thermometer!!! testing in different locations on the engine) with moving blanket over cowling, small size allows it to fit underneath tight cowling (Flight Design CTSW), long power cord extremely helpful, the thermostat on the unit works surprisingly well to regulate the temperature, have left the unit plugged-in and operating, would check on the unit every hour or so periodically, to find the unit cycling on and off depending on temperature demand…. Just wish I would’ve got a free hat!!!

Works as advertised. I have it set up on a smart plug and Wi-Fi so I can turn it on from home. At 20 degrees F in my hanger it had my oil temp to 75 in a few hours.

So I bought this heater hoping for a good solution to my Red Dragon and freezing my butt off standing outside watching it. I put it in last week. In our area we have had lows in the teens and highs in the low thirties all week. I was curious to see how it was working. Have not been able to fly because of the weather. I went out yesterday, OAT was 30F, it was 19F in the morning. The GEM monitor shows all CHTs at 46 to 49 degrees. The unit is doing what it is supposed to do without cooking my engine. So far so good.

This product turned out to be even better than I had hoped, after receiving it, and reading the instructions, and realizing how much research went into this high quality heater I couldn’t be happier with my purchase

Q: I have a Baron 58. Does it come with one or two heaters for each motor?

This is sold as each engine. If you have a twin you will need to buy (2).

Q: How long do you plug this in and operate before needing the plane? I am hoping an hour does the job

Because the heater is thermostatically controlled, it should be plugged in at all times when the ambient temperature is below 60 degrees. To answer your question, it can take up to 48 hours to heat a cold soaked engine.
