Over the last three years, Ive experienced three flats directly related to these tubes on my 77 C337G. All failures have been a failure of the material on the sidewall of the tube, a lattice-like patch that gives way. The area, when examined, is thinner than the remained of the tube. Two of the flats have occurred on landing roll-out without any brake application, and the other was while taxing on the ramp. FOD was not associated with any of these failures. Landing cycles on the tubes were 24, 62, and 137 a deplorable service live. Of course, the tires were replaced with landing failures, the failure costing $1K in tire, tube, and unscheduled labor. I havent been able to find a non-Aero Classic 18-5.5 on this site. Do you not offer other brands?
