I am familiar with this product and have used it previously. I am purchasing more based on my success with it in the past. ACS is the leader in supplies for EAB builders. Thanks

Excellent product for many uses. I bought this to make a gasket for an antique engine.

Nice material, easy to work with. Great replacement for the 25 year old seal in my RV6A. My one complaint: The 9 foot roll was about 1 foot less than needed to do the complete job. I had to order a second roll to finish the job a week later. Be sure to have high temperature RTV to seal up the gaps between the Baffle Seal and the AL engine baffles.

Q: What is a fiberglass insert? Is it woven fiberglass sandwiched between two layers of silicone? Is it more resistant to tearing than the silicone alone? Also, how do you find the other available colors mentioned in the Overview?

The fiberglass insert is impregnated between two layers of silicone, and is much more durable than just the silicone alone. We have added links to the other colors in the "Alternate Items" tab of this web page. We will be updating the photos for each color today so they will be more distinguishable from the thumbnail image.

Q: What is your recommendation for adhering this product to a metal cowling? Looking for something that will hold up to lots of oil as it will be in a radial engine cowling.

This silicone baffle material is commonly riveted in place, and a silicone sealant is used to seal any overlapped material. We offer a silicone molding adhesive, part number 05-04555, but it does not have any info regarding oil. It is normally used for door molding or anti-chafe silicone material.

Q: You show silivone 3/32 x 3 (sold by ft.) part No. 05-00781-3. Is Silivone different than silicone? I need to replace two baffle seals at front of my engine cowling. They attach to bottom cowling and are not part of the engine baffling RV-14A They are use as gap seals. Thanks

No, this was a typo on our web page. We have corrected. Thank you for bringing to our attention.
