Overview

Tempest AeroGuard™ induction air filters are approved on a variety of Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft and Mooney aircraft. They are manufactured using a black anodized aluminum housing and screen to prevent corrosion and fragmented media from being ingested. Designed to keep your induction system clean in the dirtiest environments, the synthetic media offers maximum airflow while still filtering out 99% of contaminants larger than 5 microns. These induction air filters will provide you with the high quality and durability you've come to expect with Tempest products.

Reviews

Nice filter. Unfortunately it is a little too small for my AA5Bs airbox, and was too loose. Air would be able to bypass it. Not sure if it’s something unusual with my plane. Had to return it.

Q: Are these TEMPEST AEROGUARD™ INDUCTION AIR FILTERS straight away PMA replacement or is an STC required?

These are FAA PMA as replacements. No STC required.

Q: Do you have a Tempest AeroGuard filter approved for the Cessna 172S? (Donaldson number P198281)

Yes, it is the TEMPEST AEROGUARD INDUCTION AIR FILTER AA198281, our part # 08-17230.

Q: Do you have a Tempest AeroGuard filter approved for the Cessna 182Q?

Yes, we sow model AA10-6150 for the 182Q, our part # 08-17231.

Q: What is the replacement interval for Tempest Aeroguard Air Filters? How often do they have to be cleaned?

Induction air filters should be replaced after 5 cleanings or 500 flight hours, whichever comes first. They should also be inspected during preflight (where possible), and at 100 hour and annual inspections, or more often if the airplane is operated in harsh conditions. An indication of an excessively dirty induction air filter is that normal high manifold pressure cannot be achieved with the engine running at full power. In general, in a normally aspirated airplane, when a 1 to 1.5-inch drop in manifold pressure is caused by the air filter, the filter is considered to be excessively ‘dirty’ and should be cleaned or replaced. Clean the air filter during each 100 hour and annual inspections, or whenever needed. Replace damaged air filters when found at any time.
