Q: How many amps can this switch handle?

The amp rating for this switch is 20.

Q: Is this Cessna Split Master Switch - Red FAA approved for installation in certified aircraft?

Yes, this is a Cessna part and is FAA approved to be used on Cessna aircraft. A field approval my be required if installed on any other certified aircraft.

Q: What are the dimensions of this Cessna split master switch? Specifically: the height, width, and depth?

The approximate dimensions are: 1-5/16" H x 3/4" W x 1-7/8" Max Depth (End of Terminal to top of Raised Switch).

Q: Can this switch be wired in either direction? I.e. Is one pole for ground only?

Per the supplier: Yes, they can be wired in either direction.

Q: Already purchased this switch. There was no wiring instructions with it. Do you know where to find it?

The Cessna split master, part number 11-15900, does not include any specific wiring instructions. The Cessna maintenance manual supplies all information needed for this installation. The positive and negative terminals on the switch are reversible, you may wire them in either direction.

Q: Tanis Heater. Can you leave these on continuously during cold weather without harming anything?

The great thing with a Tanis Preheat System is that you can leave it plugged in all the time and not have any concern of hurting anything. The reason for this is with a Tanis Preheat System we heat all of the components that are above the oil line hotter than the oil or another way to state it is the components are above the dew point temperature in your engine. We have the only preheat system that can make this claim. This keeps any moisture that is in your oil from condensing on those components.

Q: Which wire end terimianls are used with this switch? Pidg? size? Thanks.

Pidg terminals would work, the tabs are .25" wide.

Q: I need a new split master switch for my 1979 C185F. It has the 24v system. Will this switch work?

Yes, this can be used with both 14v and 28v systems.

Q: Is the 20 Amp rating combined for both sides (10 amps per switch), or 20 Amps per side?

Its 20 amp and (1) side turns off/on the alternator.
