Dapco 2100 Primerless Firewall Sealant 6 Oz
Dapco 2100 Primerless Firewall Sealant 6 Oz
I bought this to bond Fiberfrax to my plywood/fiberglass composite firewall. I cut the “firewall shaped” Fiberfrax into smaller sections - because I wasn’t sure how the Dapco 2100 would apply and cure (as I couldn’t find any info on it). As it turns out, I was able to use a (slightly modified) standard “hardware” type calking gun with some cylindrical items of various lengths (that fit inside the Dapco 2100 tube – which is smaller in diameter than the calking tubes you get at the hardware store) to push the “paste” out of the tube. The paste had a consistency of thick toothpaste, and I applied it to the structure using metal acid/glue brushes (scooping the paste with the brush as I squeezed it out of the tube). It spread easily, with the Fiberfrax adhering to it as I did each section. I was glad I did smaller sections - because the Dapco 2100 would cure too fast for large areas (using my application technique). It’s gray and it cures to a firm “rubbery” texture. When I finished the areas that I was working on I would press the red cap back on the tube, and I never had an issue with the paste curing inside the tube while I worked with it. The Dapco 2100 applied well and - in spite of it being pricey - I like the added protection I’m getting from it.
Great stuff at a fraction of the cost of original brand sealant and meets or exceeds Diamond requirements. So happy to find this.
1/3 of the price compared to purchasing through Textron (Cessna Parts) Used on all Cessna Single Eng.restarts as a firewall sealant.

This uses the same sealant guns/dispensors as the ProSeal, Chemseal, & AC-Tech sealants we offer. We have manual and pneumatic units, this part number would require a 6 Oz cartridge gun/dispenser. Example, a manual 6 Oz unit is P/N 09-38530.
